The purple emperor

The purple emperor is a butterfy species, found in moist deciduous forests. The females usually deposit the eggs singly in the afternoon on the top of shaded leaves of goat Willow, especially in places with high humidity.

As the purple emperor is a species of moist and open forests with willows, a sufficiently high water level and open spaces in deciduous forests are important for the conservation of the species. Also, it is best not to put out nest boxes for tits in forests with purple emperors to avoid excessive predation on the caterpillars.
