Lesser pond-sedge

Lesser pond-sedge can be found in all kinds of wet and marshy places such as banks of ditches, streams, rivers, canals, pools and ponds, seepage sites, wet grasslands, marshy lowlands in forests and meadows.

It is mainly a species of alder brook forest and sedge beds.

Large sedges such as lesser and greater pond-sedges can be very dominant, forming large patches of sedge beds where only one plant species dominates.
